Mobile Crisis Psych Clinician FT

Job Description

Mental Health Association of Columbia Greene Counties (MHACG) seeks a Full Time Mental health Clinician for the Mobile Crisis Assessment Team. Requirements for this position include current LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, LPN, RN or holding another applicable licensure in New York State, and a minimum of 2 years' experience working in the field of mental health and/or substance abuse. Must have experience in crisis situation. Familiarity with Greene and/or Columbia Counties will be considered a "plus."


Tasks include working as part of a mobile crisis team, going out into the community to assess mental health crisis and make determinations as to proper intervention. Also involves networking with various agencies in the two counties, follow-up case management, intervening in crisis situation both over the phone or in person, ability to deescalate crisis, occasional group crisis debriefing, occasional family crisis intervention, maintains a working knowledge of resources and therapeutic intervention skills, attending appropriate training's, providing on-call coverage at times, documentation responsibilities, at times assist in developing individual service plans with clients and providers to meet the needs of high end users, aid in implementing program policy, effectively communicate with professionals and clients in means that holistically represents the agency, maintain a professional rapport with clients and professionals via email, fax, phone assessments and face to face contact, and other tasks as determined by supervisor. This individual work as a lead of a small team often making decisions about client safety in the community and addressing program needs as they present themselves. Successful candidates will exemplify the ability to multi task in fast pace environment, and will show technological competency in databases, Microsoft products and other.


Hours may include weekends and weekdays. The position is exempt, with a salary in the mid $40s.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
